Post 9: A Day to Remember
This memory I always have in my head. It happened in the middle of the year 2008. I was studying in the University of Santiago, it was my first university year studying Public administration. At that time I had a friend and classmate named Amador. He studied in a school in the commune of Cerro Navia and had several difficulties to study.
I remember Amador was a spokesperson for the student coordinator. He appeared many times on television explaining the student demands of that time. He was very clear in expressing his ideas and with a strong political conviction that excited. I knew Amador wanted a fairer world without inequalities.
In that year we were several months without classes due to the student protests. Amador was always one of the most present in what had to do with the student resistance of that time. He was a leader and besides all that, he was a good friend. By his humble origins he knew what it was to grow up in a world full of difficulties. At that time his mother died of cancer, his father had died several years ago, so he remained in the care of his younger brother.
When they returned to Amador, they threw him out of the university because he could not pass the mathematics course twice ... because his school had not had any logarithms. At that moment something changed in me and I understood that had to change the educational system. Someone bright as an amateur could not continue studying because his school did not give him the necessary tools to be able to do it in the University.

Post 8: A Subject you've enjoyed studying this semester
Well, the truth is that during this year I have not attended classes because I finish my classes at university. At this moment I am working on my thesis project which is the only thing that I am missing in order to finish my process within the university, well, also with English.
But if I can remember some of the subjects that I had and that I found interesting. One of them was the subject of documentary. This subject was part of the elective to choose and it was a very good choice in my opinion.
I liked the subject because it was interesting to be able to learn about audiovisual language, because I always liked cinema and combining journalism was interesting. The teacher displayed examples of the types of documentaries that exist. Some were more informative, others were more artistic.
I liked more those audiovisual works in which you could make a work of art. And that motivates me to focus on what I study in this subject, because I would like to dedicate myself to the creation of this type of content that I think they need. Because there are many interesting stories to tell. And I hope to be able to generate change or help in something to create a better society for all.

An Expert on your Field
In my school age, I had several good teachers who in a some way marked me in different areas, but there is one that highlights over the others.
The name of my teacher was Orlando Palma. He was an excellent math teacher. He had a great knowledge about topics that he teach. Furtherless he explain very well things that for other are very difficult.
What always called my attention from him, is that he opened his heart and he told us a lot of their personal live experiences, which are very hard to imagine about a man like him.
He always told us about their humble origins. the poverty where hi lived, the times that he was arrested before to have 21 years old and the efforts that he had to do in order to convert himself in a happy man. Now he is In loved of his wife and children but never forgetting what he lived.
I will always remember this phrase that he always says.... " Money don't make me happy, with all my studies i could be millionare if i work in something else, but i love to be a teacher and i love my family. Everyday i sing in the shower and i come to school whistling a song, and with that i'm happy. I don't need anything else".

A Band / Singer I like
I listen a lot kind of music. I like several and different styles. In general is more spanish music and only a few others bands in english language. that´s why is difficult to me think just in one singer or band. One of the bands that I listen commonly is "Anarquia Tropical". This band is a chilean band and is well known beacuse they mix rythms of rock and another styles called cumbia. Its message is about anarchy and political content. It' s lyric has a deep social message criticizing capitalist economical model unit the exaggeration. In some cases adding a little of humor on it "Satan es la cumbia" is the track tht I remember always, not because is my favourite, but was the first that I heard about this band. In this song there is a deep criticism to catholic institution. It´s live´s performing are full energy, they are a great band because the quality of their musicians and the show that they perform over the scenario.

My Favorite Photograph
This image is a creation of the street artist Banksy. He is a
graffiter from Bristol, England, and I really like his work.
In this picture we see a stencil where a vietnamin girl run for safe her life, her name is Phan Thị Kim Phúc, and is the protagonist of a popular photo that win the Pulitzer prize in the 70’.
In the
stencil, Bansky mix this image with two occidental symbols, in one side is the
famous character from Disney Mickey mouse, and in the other side is the clown
of the world’s largest fast food restaurant, both represent of capitalism.
What I like about this
picture is the critic spirit of the author. He think about the modern world and
transmit a very clear message, that the suffering of the people in a lot of
countrys is due to the greed of USA and capitalism in general.

My Favorite Festivity
My favorite festivity is the new year. This festivity is celebrated at 00.00hrs between 31 of December and 1° of january. I like it because is that moment of the year when all family is together to celebrate and to wait the new good energy from the new year that is arriving. Everybody cooperate to make the dinner and have some drinks. When clock says that are 00.00hrs everybody get a huge hug from rest of family and then we go out out to see fireworks in the sky.
A couple of times I went to Valparaiso to see its fireworks.
In this moment of year, I think people is more happy than other moments. When new year comes, the party is just beginning and it takes a long time of celebration. Is very common that party continue at sunrise. Other reason because I like this festivity is because there are various rituals where you can left the bad things and open your arms to receive all better energy from universe.
